To keep it alive through winter in colder regions, (Red Rock Trumpet Vines are hardy in USDA zone 9-11) you must bring the plant indoors before the first frost and provide full sun to partial shade, with at least six hours of direct sunlight for the best flowering. They prefer bright, warm locations but can tolerate partial shade and benefit from protection from harsh afternoon sun in very hot climates. You can water only when the soil is dry. Keep her in the house in the winter but then put them outside in the summer and watch her thrive.
When you order a Red Rocket Trumpet Vine plant to ship, you will receive a established trumpet plant plug with very little soil in the roots, and a paper towel to keep the roots moist. You will need to unwrap the plug and transfer into well draining soil asap. Nursery pot set inside a decorative pot is recommended. All plants are free of any known parasites or illnesses when sold.
*If picking up seeds and plants in the winter months please let me know what day you plan on picking up and I will place the goods in a warmed cooler with a heat pack inside so you can pick up at your earliest convenience.
